Why did Amazon flag my product as hazmat?

Amazon screens every product for dangerous goods classification. Aerosols, flammable liquids, alcohol-based formulations, oxidisers and anything containing lithium batteries trigger a hazmat review, and healthcare catalogues trip these rules constantly: sanitisers, medicated sprays, some topicals and most powered devices.
While a product is under review it cannot be sold through FBA, and even after approval, hazmat lines live in a restricted storage network with tighter capacity. The review runs on documentation, principally a current Safety Data Sheet or an exemption sheet confirming the product is not regulated.
The operator’s move is to classify your own catalogue before Amazon does: keep SDS documents current for every formulation, submit them proactively when listing, and treat any reformulation as a documentation event. Brands that react to hazmat flags lose weeks; brands that pre-empt them barely notice the process.
